Haïti is currently making the voice of its youth heard on the international stage! Since September 14, John Wesley Désir, Director of Communication and Technology at KOZE JÈN YO, has been representing Haïti at the 24th University for Youth and Development (UYD), which is taking place in Spain until September 21, 2025.
This international event, organized by the Council of Europe, in partnership with UNESCO, UNDP, and the North-South Center, brings together more than 200 young people, experts, and decision-makers from around the world around the theme:
"Youth Empowerment for Digital Security."

John Wesley is taking part this week in an international training course on Media Literacy during Elections, an initiative led by UNDP and UNESCO. Discussions and workshops focus on:
- Combating disinformation and fake news,
- Strengthening youth political participation,
- Using media as educational tools,
- Promoting the integrity of information in electoral processes.
By actively participating in discussions on cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and the protection of information during elections, John Wesley highlights the challenges and aspirations of Haitian youth.
KOZE JÈN YO’s presence at UYD 2025 demonstrates the organization’s continued commitment to:
- Defending the rights and interests of young people,
- Bringing Haiti’s voice to the international stage,
- Inspiring young people to get involved in building a more inclusive and secure democracy.

Camp-Perrin, nestled in the South department of Haiti, is one of the most picturesque cities in the Caribbean region. Located just 23 kilometers east of Les Cayes, the country’s third-largest city, Camp-Perrin is a true haven of peace. Its pleasant climate, lush vegetation, and serene atmosphere make it an ideal place for those seeking natural beauty and tranquility. While Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, is often marked by tension and social difficulties, Camp-Perrin stands out for its calm and joyful ambiance, offering a different perspective on life in Haiti. Geographical Location and Proximity to Les Cayes Camp-Perrin is located in the southwest region of the country, about 30 kilometers from Les Cayes, a dynamic urban center that plays a crucial role in trade and economic activities in the southern part of Haiti. Although Les Cayes is the third-largest city in Haiti, Camp-Perrin, as a small rural town, contrasts sharply with the hustle and bustle of the big city. In Haiti, rice is a staple of the cuisine. It’s enjoyed in all its forms, from sticky rice to diri ak djon djon. But in the evening, there’s nothing like rice porridge for a light and soothing dinner. Prepared with well-cooked rice, milk, sugar, and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, this creamy porridge is a true delight. Some people add butter or lemon zest for added flavor.

PAQÉMO, short for "Projet Artistique de Quartiers et Éducatif Musical en Orchestre" (Neighborhood Artistic and Educational Orchestral Music Project), is an ambitious initiative launched in 2022 by the Association Musicale et Éducative à Vocation Sociale (AMEVS), co-founded by Jéricho Pierre-Noël and Cecilia Madolena Clénard, Haitian students at Sorbonne University. Today, the project includes other names such as Sargine Any Melissa Bernard, Mohamed Etamine, Ege Tarik Eken, Youssef Naccache, and Sohann List Massaregli, all Sorbonne students dedicated to promoting access to musical education in Haiti—particularly classical music—as a tool for holistic development. The goal of PAQÉMO’s founders is to use music as a means of education, inclusion, and social transformation, integrated alongside the traditional Haitian school curriculum.
