Chenn tamarin, although appearing asleep in the first moments, shows signs of waking up, ready to shake up the established order. On Sunday evening, Lambi gran dlo honored the memory of one of its loyal supporters, while Grap Kenèp was the scene of violence between fans, recalling the fragility of social cohesion when passion runs wild. In this whirlwind of emotion and competition, it is crucial to keep in mind that it is the journalist who must look to the events, and not the other way around. Mache Ayisyen: An Initiative by Phanord Cabé to Boost Haitian National Production

Local trade in Haiti, while rich in diversity and potential, faces numerous challenges, including the low visibility of local producers and the lack of adequate infrastructure for marketing their products. This includes the massive influx of products from foreign countries, which unfairly overwhelms the small Haitian market with very poor-quality products. It is in this context that Phanord Cabé, CEO of the online media Hebdo24, unveiled his ambitious project, "Mache Ayisyen." It is a digital platform dedicated to the promotion and sale of local Haitian products. Scheduled for launch in April 2025, Mache Ayisyen aims to connect Haitian producers and consumers through an online platform. The objective is clear: to encourage the consumption of local products while providing much-needed visibility to the country’s small businesses. By focusing on the growth of local commerce, this initiative could be a catalyst for boosting the Haitian economy.

Carrefour: Kay Jèn Yo s’ouvre aux enfants

Dans le cadre du programme de promotion des droits et de l’épanouissement de l’enfant "Timoun se moun" piloté par l’organisation Action Communautaire de Transformation et d’Intégration Formelle (ACTIF), Kay Jèn Yo organise, du 18 au 24 août 2025 (9h am - 1h pm), "Espas Lajwa", un camp d’été qui cible trente (30) enfants de 7 à 15 ans. Une grande panoplie d’activités éducatives, créatives et ludiques sont programmées pour le plus grand bien des enfants. Ils auront droit à des ateliers de : peinture, crochet, macramé, langue des signes, théãtre, lecture, échec, etc. Dans un contexte aussi traumatogène où la violence est monnaie courante, de telles initiaves sont d’une importance capitale. " Les enfants ne sont pas imperméables au stress et autres pathologies que peut provoquer la situation morbide qui sévit dans le pays actuellement", souligne Blondy Wolf Leblanc (Gabynho) DG a.i de ACTIF. "Espace Lajwa se veut donc, un refuge, un lieu où les enfants peuvent s’exprimer en toute sécurité, un espace sécurisant où ils peuvent exprimer leurs émotions à travers plusieurs médiums", précise-t-il. Plus loin, l’animateur socioculturel encourage d’autres structures à travers le pays à prendre des initiatives de ce genre au bénéfice de la santé mentale des enfants. Espas Lajwa est quasiment gratuit. Un frais de participation de 150 gourdes est requis pour la semaine. Haïti Cuisine: “JOUNEN RETWOUVAY AK MANJE AYISYEN” on the occasion of Andy Vibert’s Birthday

On October 19, 2023, the Haitian community came together to celebrate Andy Vibert’s birthday in an extraordinary way, by organizing a special event titled "JOUNEN RETWOUVAY AK MANJE AYISYEN." This exceptional day was an opportunity to highlight the richness of Haitian cuisine by offering a delicious variety of traditional dishes, such as joumou soup, chiktay, weighed bananas, tonmtonm, tchaka, lalo, white rice, pea and vegetable puree, bòy ak sòs pwa, and of course, the famous griots. Beyond the simple celebration of an anniversary, this evening had a deeper objective, namely to encourage fellow Haitians to favor local consumption. Andy Vibert, by highlighting these traditional dishes, wanted to make guests aware of the importance of supporting national production.

Life: Cultural heritage and family pleasure for the youth of Jacmel

In Jacmel, a group of young people called Eau de Vie, founded in June 2021, is dedicated to the rediscovery of Haitian culture. Among the founding members are César Rocher, Déborah Vil, Max Jean Julien, Lansley Lemaire, Jacky Edwing Laguerre, Francesca Faustin, Sthélianie Dominique, Mackenson Gilot and Gédeon Riché. Their mission is to introduce young people to unknown sites in their own city, and soon, throughout the country. Through events like the "Jounen Dantan", Eau de Vie highlights local traditions and promotes cultural exchanges. Mainly based in Jacmel, the group organizes its activities in emblematic places such as the blue basin. Eau de vie aspires to strengthen the feeling of belonging of young people towards their heritage and to promote a spirit of community and sharing within Haitian youth.
